When the Ends Justify the Means

Bill Maher succinctly captures the essence of a post I've wanted to write for some time. For the Republican Party and it's followers, the ends justify the means. Bill manages to make the connection that Scientologists also subscribe to this philosophy, which isn't a connection I'd made before but certainly helps to illustrate the concept. It also means there won't be a level playing field in the national political arena for the foreseeable future since the Democratic Party can't use the same tactics without sacrificing their soul.

Preaching to the Choir

So you're saying irrational belief is a bad thing?
RELIGIOUS belief can cause damage to a society, contributing towards high murder rates, abortion, sexual promiscuity and suicide, according to research published today.

According to the study, belief in and worship of God are not only unnecessary for a healthy society but may actually contribute to social problems.

I never would have guessed.
